Eat your veggies, doggies
ICKY ITCHY SKIN in dogs can often be mitigated or cured with a switch to a high-quality, low-allergen diet. Dr. Cuesta may recommend prescription diets for problem skin, but you may also wish to treat your canine friend with a special snack that is delicious and healthy enough for you. We hope you enjoy the Airport Animal Hospital vegan dog biscuit recipe below!
Vegan Dog Biscuits
Ingredients:
Oat Flour - scant 1 cup
Brown Rice Flour - scant 1 cup
Rolled Oats - 1/4 cup
Grated Carrots (or dehydrated carrots) - 1/4 cup
Dried Parsley - 1/4 cup
Garlic Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Olive Oil - 1 heaping tablespoon
Mix ingredients with about 1/2 cup water (just enough to hold the dough together). Roll out on a Sil-Pat or Parchment Paper to about 3/8 inch. Cut into shapes with a cookie cutter (we like heart shapes), then use a fork to poke holes in center. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes (they should harden, but not brown). Makes around 20 biscuits. Enjoy a snack with your Furry Friend!
