Dr. Agustin Cuesta, Veterinarian

Experience is often the best medicine for your pet. With 25 years experience in in veterinary medicine, Dr. Cuesta possesses a unique combination of empathy, warmth and insight. Our clients appreciate the extra time he takes to explain complex procedures, and his willingness to listen to their concerns. His manner is closely connected with our mission; where experience matters, relationships matter, and affordable care matters. OUR MISSION ➔

Dr. Cuesta earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University in 1997. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine with an emphasis in Clinical Pathology. During his final year at vet school, Dr. Cuesta also studied at Oklahoma State University, where he interned with the SPCA to develop his surgery skills. This compassion for shelter animals is continued through Airport Animal Hospital's advocacy of pet rescue groups.

Beginning his veterinary career in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Cuesta practiced at MedVet and Veterinary Diagnostics, while continuing to hone his diagnostic skills at the Ohio State University Medical Center. Locally, Dr. Cuesta practiced at Total Pet Care in Maumee from 2002, and was tapped to become Chief of Staff at Banfield Pet Hospital in Perrysburg in 2006. He is a member of the professional organizations AVMA, OVMA, and ASCP.

Dr. Cuesta now continues a nearly 50 year tradition of caring for Toledo's pets at the corner of Airport and Byrne. Airport Animal Hospital's founder, Dr. Roger Gussett, knew the practice would be in good hands as he passed ownership to Dr. Cuesta in 2009. Every hour of every day, Dr. Cuesta and his team of dedicated professionals pledge to devote our personal efforts to providing insightful, personalized and compassionate care for the pets you love.
